'Steve Sweitzer was one of a kind'
The world of Indiana broadcast journalism has suffered a profound loss. Steve Sweitzer, Chief Photographer at WISH-TV for many years, passed away May 21, 2026, after a brief illness. He was 76.
Steve also was a reporter, editor and videographer for Patty Spitler’s independent shows, “Pet Pals TV” and “Great Day TV,” where he did a popular segment called Steve’s Tech Talk. He was a close friend of Patty’s and many other WISH-TV associates through the years.

I'm Wrangler! Adopt me!
When we moved into the new IACS shelter, we wanted to give Wrangler the chance to show us who he really is outside of the stress and chaos. While he’s doing so much better here than he was before, The truth is, Wrangler is still sad. Sad that he’s still waiting.
And once you get him outside of his kennel? A completely different dog shines through. Wrangler LOVES to run, romp, and play.

In the weeks following PurrCon's return inside PopCon at the Indiana Convention Center, nearly 5,000 pounds of cat litter donated by Dr. Elsey's is being distributed to approximately 20 foster homes across Central Indiana through the Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO). The distribution addresses one of the more persistent supply challenges facing foster networks: consumable goods that disappear quickly and are rarely the focus of donation drives. Pink fairy armadillo is fragile and elusive
This tiny, cute creature is called The Pink Fairy Armadillo (Chlamyphorus truncatus), the smallest species of armadillo in the world, averaging only about 10 centimeters in length. Native to the sandy plains and dry grasslands of Central Argentina, this elusive mammal is a master of "sand-swimming," using its oversized front claws to burrow through the soil with incredible speed.

My story: How a rescue dog inspired a children's book
I first saw Jude on a social media site stating he was chasing their chickens. I rescued this miniature Schnauzer mix from the Hamilton County Humane Society seven days later. Jude was around 8 years old, homeless, shy, and had little confidence. Since rescuing him, his life has changed in so many ways!
My new book, “The Adventures of Jude,” is about growth, friendship, and love.

Hoosier author's mischievous dog inspires children's books
Ashlee Butler never imagined herself writing a book, but the antics of Myles, her nearly two-year-old dog, turned her into an author.
Her new children’s book, “Focus, Myles, Focus!” is Butler’s clever tribute to her spunky pup, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, a breed few people have heard of.
