Easter bunnies - pet rabbits take commitment

On the latest “Pet Pals TV,” host Patty Spitler was joined by the Indiana House Rabbit Society, who is urging families to consider the long-term commitment required before adopting a pet rabbit, especially during the Easter season.

Amy Deitchley from the Indiana House Rabbit Society highlights that domestic rabbits are not suited for outdoor living and require indoor care, including a diet primarily of hay and regular veterinary attention. The nonprofit organization, dedicated to rabbit rescue and adoption, ensures all rabbits are spayed, neutered, and litter trained before adoption.

The Indiana House Rabbit Society has been rescuing rabbits for 24 years, with volunteers catching stray rabbits and providing them with necessary care before adoption. The society operates a shelter in Fountain Square and welcomes donations and volunteers to support their ongoing efforts in rabbit rescue and care.
