Due to inclement weather, the April 5 Mutt Strut has been canceled at White River State Park. Here's a message from IndyHumane CEO Donna Casamento:
Mutt Strut update: your safety comes first!
We hope everyone stayed safe during the dangerous weather last night. We are grateful that all of our animals and staff are safe, and our shelter is still standing. Unfortunately, the storms and the impending weather this weekend have led us to make an extremely difficult decision:
Mutt Strut 2025 is canceled.
This was not a decision we took lightly. The safety of our community—both people and pets—comes first, and with the damage already done to our shelter and our community, and more severe weather in the forecast, we do not feel comfortable moving forward with the event.
We know this is disappointing, but we’re already working on a way to come together in support of IndyHumane! The goal of Mutt Strut was to come together as a community to support IndyHumane, and we hope you'll still be willing to do that in a slightly different setting. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 12th—we’re planning a community event at the shelter to make up for it. Stay tuned for details!
Thank you for understanding, and for always showing up for IndyHumane. We can’t wait to see you soon!
