They're so soft and sweet, and maybe you'd like to own one, but do you know what you're getting into? We're talking about bunnies. That's right, domesticated rabbits! Click below to watch this weekend's Pet Pals TV with Patty Spitler:
Candice Oman is the founder and owner of The Bunny Burrow and she's here to educate us about domesticated rabbits. For one thing, if you get a domesticated bunny and get tired of it do you think you can just release it out into the wild? That's actually a death sentence for the little bunny. Do you know what they need to eat and how long they can live? Candice has lots of great information about these fluffy little souls. Oh yes, and Patty gets to hold and kiss a bunny!
Saffy, a five-year-old Pomeranian once confined to a breeding facility in Wisconsin, was terrified of nearly everything when she was adopted by Betsy Van Horn. To help her new pup gain some confidence, Betsy turned to Nathan Lowe, The American Dog Whisperer, for help. Saffy has made amazing progress under her human mom’s loving leadership! See Patty’s interview with them and the adorable Pom!
Saul was a very special senior dog taken in by Grateful Rescue and Sanctuary in Muncie, Indiana. When he first came to the rescue he couldn’t even lift his head. Saul had issues with his spinal cord, among other health concerns, and the rescue tried several therapies to help him. Sadly, Saul has passed away, despite the rescue’s valiant efforts to save him.
How much do you know about crows? Amazon John and Meerkat Mel from Silly Safaris introduce two fascinating African Pied Crows — Edgar Allan Crowe and Lindy. These brilliant birds, known for their striking black-and-white feather pattern, play a key role in nature as scavengers, using tools to find food and solve puzzles. Patty even gets up close and personal with a new feathered friend!
The Chow Chow is a spitz-type of dog breed originally from Northern China. It’s a sturdily built dog with a broad skull and small, triangular, erect ears with rounded tips. Chow Chows can be excellent family dogs if properly trained and socialized. They are loyal and protective but also can be independent and reserved, especially with strangers. Is this the dog for you? Barney Wood has the answer on Know Your Breed!
